Men's Section

Here at Thorpe our Men’s section offers you a mix of competitive golf at all levels and social golf throughout the week via a variety of roll-ups and social groups.

We enter club teams in all the County Competitions from Thornton Cup for the scratch golfers, Leslie Wood for the intermediates down to Jubilee Cup and Norman Plumb for the medium to high handicappers.

We have a full and varied calendar of club competitions throughout the year, including regular medals, stableford, 4BBB, bogey and team events. Full details of all club competitions can be found in The Welcome Pack. We also have a wide range of roll-ups and social groups with varying playing standards so there is always an opportunity to find a game either during the week or at weekends.

Lastly, not forgetting the golfing couples who will enjoy the mixed events which culminate with an evening meal and some lively banter.

VMLS (Veterans & Monday League Section)

The Veterans and Monday League Section was formed in 2012 and plays matches on a friendly bases against 8 other clubs on a home and away bases. Prior to 2012 all friendly matches open to senior members of the club were played under the Monday League banner. Team sheets are displayed in the club some three weeks before each match and teams are formed on a self-selection basis.

The original “Monday League” continues to function in it’s own right and any member over the age of 55 is eligible to join the group for a small annual subscription which entitles them to enter and play in the year long schedule of events, and attend associated lunches.
